This is Linda Brown. Linda Brown was the girl who was not allowed to go to the white school because of the color of her skin.
What happened?
"In Topeka, Kansas 1950, Oliver Brown, a black man, took his daughter, Linda Brown, to an all white school. Linda was denied, by the Board of Education, to attend that school because of the color of her skin. "Separate ,but not equal."
What went on during the case? Linda's parents sued the Board for denying their daughter's entrance. The court said that the segregation of Linda going to the white school violated the 14 amendment.The court's decision led a 9-0 vote.
What happened after the case?
After the court's decision, Linda was aloud to go to the white school.When the case went on Linda was still in elementary school. Elementary schools were separated still. By the time after the case, Linda was already old enough to go to a black and white middle school.
